How to obtain citizenship?

You can obtain citizenship via the government investment program that welcomes new citizens who are ready to contribute to the economy. The investment requirements are as follows:

Make a donation of €100,00

Montenegro Applicants must contribute €100,000 in the form of a government fund donation.

Make a real estate investment of a minimum of €250,000

Applicants are required to invest in approved real estate projects in the country. Depending on the location of the selected projects, applicants will have the choice of the following options:

  • €250,000 investment in an undeveloped region (north of the country), OR
  • €450,000 investment in a developed region (south of the country).

How long does it take?

Residency is obtained within 3 weeks and approval of citizenship within 6 months.

Who can apply?

Any Non-EU citizen can apply to become a citizen of Montenegro, as long as they:

  • have no criminal record
  • can justify the origin of the funds for investment
  • hold a valid passport or travel document
  • follow the investment requirements mentioned above (donation + real estate investment)
